Machig Labdrön was the 11th century enlightened yogini who 

originated several Tibetan lineages of the Vajrayana practice
known as Chöd. Her teachings became famous throughout
Tibet and the Himalayan regions. Her Indian guru was the
Mahasiddha Padampa Sangye.
